Inner Circle Spring 2011

As we begin Spring, it is great to see so many wonderful things happening at Radius! It is also great to see the sun shining!

It was inspiring to have over 180 people attend our Report to the Community. This event is proving to be one not to be missed. The highlight of course is the awards made to our outstanding people. This year, the following people were  honoured for their outstanding commitment to Radius:
Employee of the Year – Rory Trewhella
Flo Robinson Exceptional Personal Achievement
Award – Alena Vercoe
Radius Staff Award for Outstanding Performance
– Catherine Baker

All are extremely worthy winners, and people who clearly understand the values of Radius. Please join me in acknowledging and commending their achievements.
Our special guest for the night was “Chooka” Parker, a gifted pianist who appeared on Australia’s Got Talent. Chooka performed beautifully, and treated us to some wise words as well! A big thank-you to Chooka and his family for making the night truly memorable.
Our CEO Jan Boynton is soon to return from an international conference, from which we believe many innovative new ideas will be gained to benefit Radius into the future. We look forward to Jan’s return, and no doubt the insights she
has gained will quickly be explored and implemented within Radius.
We have welcomed two new Board members who we believe will add great value to the organisation. Barry Secombe is well known in the region from his work in local government and now within the education field. Teresa Iocono is Professor of Rural and Regional Allied Health at LaTrobe University.  Both bring to the board a wealth of experience and are very welcome additions to an already strong Board at Radius.
We farewelled Geoff Stephens after over 15 years of service to the Board of Peter Harcourt and now Radius Disability Services. This is a huge commitment over such an extended period of time, and we thank him most sincerely.
As we now move into the final months of 2011, it is important to look back on all of our fine achievements at Radius  – and to look forward to us continuing to make a difference.
Enjoy Spring!
